Waxing Hair Removal in Kent

Waxing in Kent

We use the safe and hygienic roller waxing system and traditional hot wax.

Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for four to six weeks, although some people will start to see re growth in only a week due to some of their hair being on a different growth cycle.

Almost any area of the body can be waxed.

Strip waxing is accomplished by rollering a wax thinly over the skin. A paper strip is applied and pressed firmly, adhering the strip to the wax and the wax to the skin. The strip is then quickly ripped against the direction of hair growth, as parallel as possible leaving smooth, hairless skin behind.

Abi is now offering hot wax Hollywood waxing.

For a treatment that involves a certain level of discomfort and possibly even a little bit of embarrassment, it might be considered surprising that intimate waxing treatments – including anything from a basic bikini to the full works (otherwise known as a Hollywood) – are now one of the most popular waxing treatments that we offer. We can provide a comfortable, speedy and efficient intimate wax with hot or strip (warm) wax.

Here we explain about the difference between  hot and warm waxing for sensitive areas, so here’s the science to explain why hot wax is better suited than warm wax, for intimate areas:

Unlike warm wax, which sticks to the skin, hot wax grips the hair itself by shrink-wrapping around the hair shaft when applied. This makes it much better than warm wax at removing the stronger, coarser terminal hairs that appear on the bikini line. It also makes the waxing experience slightly more comfortable when working on a sensitive and delicate area such as the bikini area, because the wax doesn’t just stick to the skin.

Another benefit to this shrink-wrapping effect, is that the hot wax is able to grip even very short hairs, works with a lower temperature than the traditiional roller wax and is specifically designed for sensitive areas.

Hands up, who only gets waxed for their holidays?

Waxing is definitely the best way to stay hair free for longer, so it’s the ideal hair removal option to remain fuzz free during your holiday.

But, did you know, that to get the best results from your wax, you need to be planning ahead? It takes around 3 waxing sessions (approximately 4 weeks apart) to get the best results.

The reason for this is, you have THOUSANDS of individual hairs on any area of your body. If you are not a regular waxer, each of these little hairs will be at different growth stages at your first appointment:-

So, although waxing removes the hairs by the root, there will be lots of hairs that are just too short to be waxed or may still be under the skin, just waiting to pop through in the next few days.

However, the benefit of regular waxing means that, over time, the hair growth cycle becomes synchronised, with all the hairs being at the same stage. This means they all grow in together and get removed together. Once a hair is removed by the root, it will be a few weeks before a new hair is formed and starts to appear.

This is what you want for your pre-holiday wax! Hair free skin that will remain hair free for longer than your holiday.

No horrible shaving stubble either!

So if you are thinking of getting a holiday wax, get your diary out and start planning your waxing schedule to ensure the longest lasting results possible.

Please Note

Skin grazing (or skin lifting) can occasionally occur after a waxing treatment, causing an abrasion similar to scraping your knee.

Often mistaken for a burn, this does not always appear in the area immediately, and can sometimes not become apparent until a day or two after the treatment.

It can occur if the skin has been compromised due to factors such as the environment, chemicals, or even foreign substances (such as pollen or artificial fragrance), or if the skin is dry or dehydrated, and does not always show obvious signs on the skin for your therapist to know beforehand.

If you experience any skin grazing after your treatment, please let us know as soon as you so we can advise you.

If cared for appropriately, skin grazing will heal within a few days and leave no lasting damage to the skin.
